Streetscaping of
Mahatma Gandhi Road
(Rajghat to Shantivan Crossing)
In 2019, the Govt. of NCT-Delhi, through its organization- PWD, took up an ambitious task of redeveloping a total of 1,300 kms of roads throughout the city, changing not just the look, but at many locations, also the sections, adding several features like cycle tracks, rain shelters, bus stops, public conveniences, cycle stands, water ATMs, etc.
The project aims to give a complete makeover to almost all major roads in various zones of the capital city. One such stretch of roads is the Mahatma Gandhi road, starting from Rajghat intersection to Shantivan crossing. This 2 KM long stretch is one of the first to be developed. It was completed and handed over to the department for public in 2022.
